Rules & Regulations

Blessed Parents,

As we are on the threshold of beginning a new academic session, we would like you to make a note of the following rules and regulations that will ensure the well-being of our students and enable smooth functioning of the school system and practices. Students and parents/guardians must strictly adhere to the rules and regulations. Any breach of these rules shall lead to serious consequences such as warning, fines, suspension, dismissal and compulsory issue of Transfer Certificate depending on the severity of the misconduct/breach by your ward. The Principal's decision in this regard shall be final and binding on the student / parent / guardian. Also, school rules are subject to change without prior notice or reason.

GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS

The school gates will open at 07:25 a.m. to let the students in. The school shall not be responsible for their well- being if they reach earlier than that.
School gates will close at 07:50 a.m. Students must reach school before the gate closes. Parents are requested to refrain from requesting permission to send students late or take them early.
No student shall stay back in the school premises after school hours, except when detained by the Principal or teachers. The school shall not be responsible for their well-being if they stay back after school hours without permission.
No student shall leave the school premises during school hours, without the permission of the principal.
No student is allowed to take half day leave without prior information / permission.
In case of habitual negligence in home assignments, the student will be detained after school hours to complete the work. In such a case, parents / guardians will have to make arrangements to pick up their ward from school.
Parents / guardians are requested to check the school diary of their ward daily, acknowledge and counter-sign the teacher's remarks.
Parents / Guardians must check the P2C portal regularly for any announcements or information. They must remove DND option on their registered mobile phone number (for P2C) in order to receive uninterrupted P2C messages as the school communicates regularly through this platform.
Any communication to the school should be addressed to the Principal on an A-4 sheet, neatly folded and kept inside a plain white enveloped. The student's name, class, section, admission no., address and parent's phone no. should be mentioned clearly on all applications.
PTMs should be attended regularly in order to get apprised of the progress of your child.
Parents are requested to provide the latest residential and office address and telephone numbers to the school through the school almanac. In case of any changes, you are requested to update the contact information given to the school through an application addressed to the principal, at the earliest.
The name, class, section of the student should be clearly marked on all his/her belongings. Blazers and jerseys should also bear the name of your child.
Ensure that your ward carries books/notebooks as per the time-table only.
For security reasons, tiffin, water bottles etc. will not be accepted at the main gate.
In order to maintain equality, no gifts are to be sent to school on child's birthday. Only the distribution of a box of sweets/ dry fruits etc. is permissible. If parents are interested, they can donate story books to the library. We maintain a no-plastic zone in school, thus, do not send chocolates/biscuits/toffees etc. wrapped in plastic covers. Cutting of cake in the school premises/ school bus is also not permitted.
The school cannot be held responsible for the loss of any personal items including cash, belonging to the child. Students are not allowed to bring more than Rs.50/- in cash. If any parent wants to send money for any purpose through the ward, he/she should mention the same in the diary.
Negative reaction towards any other student/parent/staff member of the school upon receiving any sort of complaint/ remark, should be avoided.
All complaints/ grievances must be brought to the notice of the class teacher/ coordinator/ vice-principal/ principal.
Workshops or meetings arranged by the school should be attended by the parents and suggestions given should be taken up seriously.
For issuance of a duplicate report card (due to loss/damage), an amount of Rs. 100/- will be charged.
Students are allowed to have a light snack after the first period. You may send a fruit or a few biscuits in a tiffin box for the same. Avoid sending biscuits wrapped in plastic packets.
All school rules must be read carefully and explained to the children.

BE A ROLE MODEL

Parents should try to be role models for their children.
Children should be encouraged to imbibe the right values and life skills at home. Spend quality time with your child on a regular basis.
Assist your children in completing the assigned tasks.
Selection of age appropriate TV programs and their time limit should be strictly monitored by parents.
Internet surfing by the children should be done under strict supervision and guidance of the parents.
Your child should refrain from being a part of social networking websites.
Restrict the use of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets.

ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE RULES

Minimum 80% attendance is compulsory in the academic session in order to become for eligible to sit for the final exams of school as well as the Board Examination. In case the attendance is short, the student will also not be eligible for any academic prizes.
Leave or absence will be granted only after receiving prior written application from the parent / guardian, except in unforeseen circumstances.
Absence from the school even for a day has to be supported by a leave application duly signed by the parent and it must be sent the very next day through the student.
Please do not send leave applications through P2C.
Sick leave for more than two days must be supported by a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
For out station leave, parents must obtain a sanction in advance. For students from class IX onwards leave will be granted solely at the discretion of the principal.
Continuous absence from school for 15 days (without permission) will lead to the removal of the pupil's name from the school register. In such cases, readmission will only be granted only after payment of an additional admission fee.
Absence from school during tests / examinations will not be condoned except in case of major ailments.
Students will NOT be permitted to leave early on the examination / assessment days.
Such requests will not be entertained at all. Still, if parents insist and pick their ward early, it will result in cancellation of that particular examination/ assessment. For medical reasons, the school medical staff will assess the health condition of the student and inform the parents, if the student needs to be picked early. Kindly refrain from sending your ward to school if he/she is unwell and needs medical attention and rest.
You are advised not to send the child to school in case of contagious diseases and keep him/her at home till the quarantine period, suggested by the physician, is over.

DRESS CODE

Students should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed.
The school uniform should be clean and well-ironed. Students shabbily dressed are liable to be fined or sent back home.
Students must wear their identity card every day. Defaulters will be fined (Rs. 50). Upon loss or tampering of the I Card, Rs. 200 will be charged for the issuance of the new one.
Finger nails to be trimmed regularly.
Boys shall ensure that their hair is trimmed short at regular intervals. Styling/ uneven trimming is not allowed (penal fine: Rs. 50).
Students are strictly not allowed to have tattoos on their body.
Unbuttoned shirts, low waist/ narrow bottom trousers, ear stud for boys are not allowed. Counsel your ward to dress decently. Boys must come to school with either well-trimmed beard or clean shaven (except for Sikh boys).
Girls shall plait their hair neatly and avoid making fringes and high puffs. Hair colouring is strictly prohibited (if done, paying a penal fine of Rs. 2000 and re-colouring to bring back the natural colour will become mandatory).Nail paint and tattoos are not permitted (penal fine-Rs. 20 and Rs.1000). Henna, if required, is to be applied on the palms only. Students are not allowed to wear ornaments except for small ear rings.

ITEMS STRICTLY BANNED IN SCHOOL

All intoxicants like tobacco, drugs etc. except prescribed medicines (Medicines, if brought to school must be sent along with medical prescription).
Electronic devices like CD player, I-Pod, I-pad, MP3 player, mobile phone, smart watch, camera, USB, or any other. Under unavoidable circumstances, prior permission must be obtained from the principal and the mobile phone/ device must be deposited at the reception before the student reaches his/her classroom. In such a case, the students are allowed to bring only a basic model of a mobile phone without camera and internet facility. He /she may collect the same before leaving the school in the afternoon. If any student is found in possession of a phone, camera, USB drive or any other device, it shall be permanently confiscated.
Books (other than textbooks/ library books), magazines, journals, etc.
Valuable articles like jewelry, expensive watches, etc.
Chemicals/paints of any kind.
Correction fluid.
Sharp objects.
Crackers or Holi colours.
Matchbox, lighter etc.
Non-Vegetarian food items.
Bringing of the above mentioned items to school is banned on a regular day/excursion/inter-school competition/ any other event. Any such item found with the child will incur strict action, including suspension.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS

Students should be polite and courteous. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet their teachers when they meet them. All students are urged to maintain high moral and ethical standard in their manners and conduct.
The school diary is to be brought to school every day. A fine of Rs. 50 will be levied for not bringing the almanac.
Only English should be spoken in the school premises, except in other language periods (Fine for speaking in vernacular language- Rs. 10).
Students should not indulge in uncivilized behavior or use foul and abusive language (penal fine- Rs. 100). Dishonesty, obscenity in words or action or threats inside or outside the school are unacceptable by the school.
Students should not spit in or near the school building.
They should not indulge in wrong practices such as gambling, rowdyism, rude behavior, 20ounseli, communalism or untouchability in any form. Students should not even cooperate in any act of violence committed by other students which may harm any student physically or mentally.
They should not indulge in lending or borrowing of money or other expensive articles.
Students should not indulge in any kind of substance abuse.
Student Cabinet must wear their respective badges daily.
Students are advised to keep their class room, school building and campus as clean as possible and throw leftovers into the dustbin only.
The school provides education from Pre – school to class XII. Therefore, it is expected that the juniors be treated with love and affection, while the juniors show respect to their seniors.
A permission note in the almanac signed by the teacher (in charge of a period) must be carried by a child going to the medical room for treatment.
It is mandatory for students to carry class pass if he/she needs to go outside the classroom. Rs 100 will be charged for the loss of class pass or monitor's/ council member's badge.
Students should not unnecessarily leave their class at the end of every period.
Any student who uses unfair means during tests/ examination will be given zero in that subject and parents will be summoned. Repetition of such offence shall invite strict disciplinary action.
Students shall treat all school property with care. It is forbidden to write or scribble on the wall/furniture, dirty the classrooms or damage any material. The parent / guardian will have to compensate for any damage done to school property or to the property of others. If a student notices any school property damaged, he/she should report the matter to the school authorities immediately.
Students should not scribble or write anything on the school uniform & ID card.
As per CBSE circular No. ACAD: - 17/2015, dated 09 March, 2015, "Bullying is strictly prohibited inside the school premises including school transport and no such act will go unnoticed or unpunished." Bullying can be directly (e.g. through physical intimidation or attacks, verbal abuse, unwanted attention and advances, damaging property), or indirectly (e.g. through spreading malicious rumors) or cyber-bullying (e.g., sending unpleasant SMS messages, photographs or email) against a fellow student or any member of the staff.
As per observation and understanding of the gravity of the misconduct, the school management shall undertake the following actions (Refer to CBSE circular No. ACAD: - 17/ 2015: 09 March, 2015).
Oral/ written warning.
Suspension from attending classes / school for a specified period.
Withholding or cancelling the results.
Imposition of heavy fine.
Expulsion /rustication from school.
The student who refuses to adhere to the school norms despite getting repeated warnings will be sent back home. No attendance would be given to a student during the period of suspension.

SCHOOL TRANSPORT

The following guidelines have been framed to assist students in understanding their obligations while using school transport:
Students using the school bus shall be at the bus stop at least five minutes before the expected time of arrival of the bus. The bus shall not wait for late comers. The child should be picked up from the drop point in time, or else the child will be escorted back to school.
Bus charges are subject to revision in case there is a rise in fuel prices. Bus facility is neither mandatory nor guaranteed.
The escort of your ward should be identifiable by your ward and our bus security staff/ the teacher-in charge, and should compulsorily bring the escort ID card (duplicate identity card of the child issued by school) while coming to drop or pick-up the child. You are thus requested to produce it every day at the time of deboarding the bus.
Students are also expected to respect and follow instructions given by the on-duty bus staff who supervises, instructs and monitors them to and flow the school. They must refrain from defacing the school bus.
An undertaking has to be signed by both the parents in the school transport office in case they want their child to go unescorted from the bus stop.
Prior application must be sent to the class teacher in case your ward won't travel by bus in the afternoon and will be picked by parents/guardian/driver.
Students indulging in aggressive or violent behavior will not be allowed to travel by school bus.
Please note that violation of the school discipline code on the bus will result in suspension/ withdrawal of the bus facility.

SELF TRANSPORT

Please note that the escort ID card (duplicate identity card of the child issued by school) serves as the disclaimer. You are thus requested to produce it every day at the time of dispersal.
Parents / Guardians who escort their child / ward to and from school shall leave them at the school gate in the morning and receive them only at the gate in the afternoon. Parents / Guardians shall not enter the classrooms or remain in the school premises.
The school prohibits its students from driving a two or four wheelers to and fro school, even if they possess a driving license. Those found driving a two or a four wheeler would not be permitted to enter or leave from the school.
No student will be allowed to leave the school premises unless escorted by parents or the person authorized by the parent (as indicated in Student's ID card).
In case the student's almanac/ ID card does not bear the photograph of the escort, an authority letter bearing the photograph of the person, who is authorized to pick up the ward from the school premises, must be submitted to the class teacher by the parent.

COMMANDMENTS AFFILIATED WITH THE CODE OF CONDUCT

Discipline is a significant element of life and it needs to be inculcated in the behavior of children from a young age so that they grow out to become responsible adults. This institution is governed by an effective behavior-management stratagem and all the students and parents/guardians must strictly adhere to the mandates to ensure the wellbeing of the learners. Any breach of these rules shall lead to serious consequences such as warning, fines, suspension, dismissal and compulsory issue of Transfer Certificate depending on the severity of the infraction by your ward. The principal's decision in this regard shall be final and binding on the student / parent / guardian.
It is important that students are well aware of the actions that constitute "bad behavior" as well as the concurrent consequences. Listed below are the common offences that would be categorized as unacceptable behavior, and the corresponding disciplinary action:
Bullying/ assailing and reckless behavior/ use of foul language
Written apology will go into the student's anecdotal dossier. Summoning and Counseling of parents and their ward.
Compulsory issuance of Red card. Suspension/eviction from school.
Late arrival
The late comers are sent back home.
Irregular attendance
Written applications to be included in the student's dossier. Written warning through diary note/ P2C
Removal of the pupil's name from the school register
Bunking classes/assemblies/ activity periods.
Verbal warning
Written warning sent by the class/subject teacher summoning of parents
Cancellation of games/activity periods Issuance of Red card.
Suspension from school.
Dereliction (shown by missing assessments, late submission of projects and assignments, not getting required material for an activity)
